    Numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers…

You’ve got reports…there’s data there, but how do you decode your analytics and what to do with that information?

That’s exactly what I’m covering in this video below, video 3 of our “Time for a Change” series. (Missed the other videos, check out Video 1 and Video 2).

So you know that data and analytics exist for your site so we can make intelligent business decisions, but what are these decisions?

A couple ways we’ve been using data recently are:

    – Deciding when to make updates to a website that won’t interrupt users or will disrupt the least amount of people. Because we know WHEN people are visiting the site, we are able to pick a time with less traffic.

    – When selling products and services, we want to see who’s coming to the site, where they are coming from, what they are doing on the site, and if those are the things we want them to be doing.

With these goals in mind, we can narrow down what data we actually need to focus on and where to find it.

So the first step in using your data intentionally is having a goal in mind, because then you know what information to sift through to get to what matters to you.

Knowing the job of your website (see Video 1 if you aren’t sure what I mean!) will help you set these goals and then translate your data into action. When you understand what your website is supposed to be doing and have defined its goals, it becomes a lot easier to locate useful data in the mountains of numbers available to you.

Get to the good stuff when it comes to data and take action on that info.

Step 1? Let me know your top website goal in the comments. And if you aren’t sure what data to look at to make informed decisions around this goal, schedule a free consult, we can figure it out!
