Free Shipping, Streaming & Books with Amazon Prime

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday looming large, I figured this was the perfect time to make sure that everyone knows about Amazon Prime. What started out as a way to just get free two-day shipping for most items on Amazon has grown into a membership that provides free shipping plus instant access to select movies, TV shows and Kindle Books on Amazon.

The membership is free for the first month (great for shipping Christmas gifts – hint, hint, nudge, nudge) and $79.99 for the year if you decide to keep it. Clearly the value is all in how much you shop on Amazon, read books on Kindle and watch streaming TV & movies. I think my membership pays for itself in shipping for Christmas gifts alone most years, I’ve started using the streaming TV & movies more ($80/year beats a Netflix membership).

Living in Phoenix, the location of one of Amazon’s distribution centers, having free two-day shipping means most times I get my order the next day!
