No one looks at the bottom of the webpage (or do they?)

When’s the last time you actually scrolled to the bottom of a webpage?

Okay, I know not everyone is like me. I’m constantly looking at the footer of websites because it can tell me so much about a business.

But have you noticed when a site’s copyright year isn’t the current year? If you have, what did that cause you to think about the business? For me, that is a red flag that they might not still be in business.

To help your business avoid others’ having a similar reaction, here’s a couple items we monitor for our clients that I suggest you check at least yearly on your website:

1.The copyright year – don’t let people think you aren’t still in business

    2. Your website privacy policy & terms & conditions. Privacy laws are on the move currently, so reviewing these items ensures you stay compliant. And if for some reason you don’t have these items for your site – please get them. Yes, you need them.

    3. Contact information and forms – the last thing you want is someone trying to contact you and can’t

    4. That your site is httpS – this means that you are using an SSL certificate and protecting any information people visiting your website send to you. Yes, this used to be just for online sales, but that’s not the case anymore.
