Wouldn’t it be awesome to have something go viral and get invited onto Jimmy Kimmel for even more business visibility? Of course it would!

Now, think back to the last time a business, similar in size or revenue to yours, had something positive go viral… it’s been a while, hasn’t it?

Going Viral: the online content lottery

The truth is this: having something go viral for your company isn’t likely to happen. And if something does go viral, it’s far more likely to be something you don’t necessarily want to be known for. Eek!

So instead, let’s talk about how to get the publicity, awesome marketing, and great word of mouth your business deserves through positive business visibility.

    Schedule Building Business Visibility

You’ve already got a ton of awesome information that people want. And, if you’ve been following along in other posts or videos, you know the importance of sharing that information with your audience.

Now it’s time to leverage that content to build that business visibility you deserve.

    How?

We need to make sure you’re consistently and regularly sharing it across the entire internet. You do that by scheduling posts on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, LinkedIn, or where ever your audience hangs out.

But don’t just schedule your posts to be shared. Schedule time to be visible online (and offline). Your business is best served by relationships, after all. So build relationships in both real life and in the digital realm.

What should you be doing during that scheduled online time? Well, it’s going to be similar to what you do in real life. You’re going to be engaging, talking to people, asking questions of your target audience, and providing answers as needed.

Where Else to Go Online to Build Business Visibility

You’re probably wondering where you should go to build these relationships, aren’t you? Because just constantly sharing “Hey, here’s my new blog post. It’ll answer your questions about my business!” isn’t going to generate much traction.

Here’s where you need to go beyond just the overly-political posts on your Facebook feed: go join groups.

For example, if your audience is sales to moms, join a few of the BST (Buy, Sell, Trade) groups. Not only are some of them highly entertaining, but they can also provide great research opportunities!

You can also set up your Twitter to monitor specific hashtags for you using a program like Tweetdeck. That way, you can follow and join in on relevant conversations.

And the best news is this: each platform has its own tricks and tips to help your business succeed! Be sure to stay tuned for more great marketing strategies and secrets.
