One thing that continually amazes me are business owners… People who have built businesses that generate $100,000, $200,000, $500,000 per year in revenue – and some have done so without business systems in place! It is simply amazing. Congratulations and kudos! Your hard work, dedication, and success are admirable. Now let’s make all of that hard work easier by putting business systems in place.

Using business systems to maximize face-to-face interactions

Many business owners I talk to are afraid that business systems would take away from their face-to-face interactions with their clients. I would never recommend that anyone stop doing face-to-face meetings! Rather, I recommend using those business systems to augment face-to-face meetings to enable you to dedicate more time on those value-adding aspects of your business like networking, in person meetings, sales calls, training your staff, and more.

In fact, by using smart business systems, you’ll actually be making sure that every point of your business reinforces that same customer relationship you’ve built your whole business on!

Business systems to minimize non-value, time-sink activities

How much time do you spend on non-value activities? Business owners I’ve talked to, as they begin to tally how much time they actually spend on non-value activities, quickly realize it’s far too much.

And while I applaud their fortitude and sheer determination in having achieved what they have to this point, we both know it’s time to take a better approach. That way, you’ve got the time and energy to focus on adding even more value to your clients.

Investing $1 in business systems – to make $100

Okay, so while I can’t guarantee that kind of a ROI, I can guarantee that you will see a return if you properly implement enterprise class business systems. They’re very affordable, though they do require a change in how we think about and approach our businesses.

For example, let’s say you’ve got a pad of paper, a stack of business cards on your desk, or a particular Excel spreadsheet you’ve been using religiously. How well do those practices spread throughout your business? Probably not well, because those systems are designed by you, for you.

What we need to use are business systems designed for businesses like yours.

Many businesses make the move to G Suite, which is google’s branded business email system. Doing that opens up a huge world of possibilities for your business – giving you easy access to information, letting you share it with others more easily, and letting you interact with that information faster.

Think about this: how much time could someone save by going from manually entering business cards into their preferred contact storage system – to using an automated system? That’s just part of the power that business systems has to offer your business. That way you can focus on helping your clients (and your business) rather than trying to sort that spreadsheet for the eleventh time today.
